This paper presents the important parameters of the grid-connected photovoltaic power plant located in Vietnam including energy production, the number of photovoltaic panels (PV), and the number of inverters. In this study, The PV Syt software is used for simulation. Besides, the project 1 MW installed capacity of a grid-connected photovoltaic system, and the solar radiation of 63 locations in Vietnam is considered for simulation. Furthermore, an economic model was proposed to identify the Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), and payback years (PB).
The result showed that the yield of the photovoltaic solar plant is within in the range from 1100 to 1631 MW per year the LCOE ranges between 0.0289 and 0.0396 USD/kWh. In addition, based on the law of Vietnam the price to sell of electricity production to EVN was 9.35 cents, the NVP in Southern Vietnam was significantly positive, ranging between $120.350 and $437,268, and the Payback years fluctuated from 7 to 11 years.
